I got an automated call from the doctor today saying I had a message for me and when I listened to it, I was told that my glucose test came back normal!! I was really surprised but am very happy that I don't have to take the 3 hour fasting test again.
We also decided to give up our parakeets. I called an avian sanctuary in Mesa today and the lady said they can take all 3 of them plus the cages, toys and food. We don't have very much time for them and once AnnaBeth is here, we really won't have any time for them. They'll be much happier living at the sanctuary as they'll get to live in a ginormous aviary that can hold about 400 parakeets. Our blue one however won't get to live in the aviary with the other two. He has eye sight problems and it will do him more harm than good if he's in the aviary with the other 40 or so parakeets that live there. He'll be kept in their office or with another person at first and hopefully they'll be able to find a home for him. If not, I suppose he'll just stay where they put him. We will be sad to get rid of them but at the same time, very happy that they won't be stuck in a cage the rest of their lives and will be very well cared for.
